According to the WHO, infections associated with health services are the most frequent adverse event worldwide.
Sterilization services in hospital units in Mexico present problems such as:
- The increasing surgical demand pushes the sterilization towards incorrect practices to avoid delays dissastisfied doctors, etc.
- The increasing complexity of surgeries and instruments that require a specific sterilization process for each of them.
- Lack of asset managment creates inconsistencies with surgical scheduling and shorter renewal cycles.
- Strong investment in high productivity hospital space (surgical block) and specific sterilization equipment.
- High staff turnover, little training and absence of specific certification of sterilization processes.
- Outdated standards and technology.
- Difficult integration amount certification, training, technical service and consumables, due to the complexity of the hospital industry.
